The James Joyce Foundation is delighted that its long-time curators and former managing directors, Ruth Frehner and Ursula Zeller, have been chosen as the recipients of the Max Geilinger Prize 2025.
Ruth Frehner and Ursula Zeller have been selected for “decades of great work at the James Joyce Foundation”, as Dr. Peter Mousson, the President of the Geilinger Foundation Board, puts it.
Founded in the 1960s, the Max Geilinger-Stiftung promotes and supports projects and events furthering the literary and cultural exchange between Switzerland and the Anglophone world.
In addition, the Max Geilinger Prize is periodically awarded “to personalities who have rendered outstanding services in this field.” Fritz Senn, the Founding President of the Zurich James Joyce Foundation, was one of the first to receive the Geilinger Prize in the 1970s.
The official award celebration will take place at the Zunfthaus zur Meisen late November 22, 2025.
