We are pleased to announce that Pol Vouillamoz, who has translated Finnegans Wake into Catalan, will be the second speaker in our new Online Lecture Series.
Pol Vouillamoz’s lecture “Four Words for Joyce: A Babelian Act of Love” will take place in late May 2026. The exact day and time will be announced in due course.
In November 1982, Jacques Derrida delivered the lecture Two Words for Joyce at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Having completed my translation of Finnegans Wake into Catalan (Adesiara Editorial, 2026), I have conceived this lecture as a response to Derrida’s intervention, exploring the principal challenges and difficulties of the task in order to address a fundamental question: what is a (Joycean) word?
