To mark Bloomsday 2026, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) – one of Switzerland’s leading newspapers – published a full-page article on Finnegans Wake.
The wonderful essay is entitled “Die Welt ist ein Buch und das Dasein ein Spiel mit dem Chaos: Warum James Joyces Finnegans Wake das Leben ein bisschen leichter macht” (i.e. “The World Is a Book and Life a Game of Chaos: Why James Joyce’s FInnegans Wake Makes Life a Little Easier”) and was written by Pascal Ihle, a member of the Board of the Zurich James Joyce Foundation.
