Congratulations to Ulrich Blumenbach – who is currently working on a German translation of James Joyce’s final work, Finnegans Wake – on being awarded the prestigious Johann-Heinrich-Voß-Preis for translation!
Ulrich Blumenbach receives this award in recognition of his many outstanding translations from English into German. He has previously received several other awards, including the Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt-Preis (2009), the Preis der Leipziger Buchmesse (2010), the Zuger Übersetzer Stipendium (2015), and the Paul-Celan-Preis (2022).
The Voß-Preis is awarded by the German Academy for Language and Literature. The award ceremony takes place on May 30, 2026, in Halberstadt.
