C. E. went out of business in 1997), but the building still stands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joyce frequently stayed at the Hotel Carlton Elite (or at the <a href=\"https:\/\/joycefoundation.ch\/de\/james-joyce\/joyce-in-zurich\/dates-and-residences\/visits-in-the-1930s\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3874\">Hotel St. Gotthard<\/a>) while consulting his ophthalmologist, Dr. Vogt in the thirties.
