09.05.2026: Irish Voices (III) – Lisa McInerney

Join us for a free reading and discussion with Lisa McInerney, author of the award-winning Cork trilogy The Glorious Heresies, organized by the UZH Swiss Centre of Irish Studies.

Lisa began her writing career with the blog The Arse End of Ireland, which chronicled an Ireland “populated by chancers, boy racers, beleaguered mammies, local hard men, people too broke to emigrate” whose lives are too often overlooked. Lisa has won the Women’s Prize for Fiction, the Desmond Elliott Prize, and the RSL Encore Award. Her work has been translated in 11 languages. Lisa is the editor of The Stinging Fly, Ireland’s most prominent literary magazine.

The reading and discussion will be in English and takes place at the Zurich James Joyce Foundation, Augustinergasse 9, on Saturday, May 9, at 5.30 p.m.
